Greetings from the village of Zdíkov! As of this morning, we are no longer in the big city, but stationed in southern Bohemia, adding 14 to the estimated population of 1600-1700. The forecast for the next few days is looking a bit wet, so we took advantage of the currently perfect weather with one of this trip’s most special excursions: a blueberry-picking hike through the Šumava forest with our friend Barbara and her friendly dog Sakal. We’ve been doing plenty of walking throughout Prague, but everything about this experience – the air, the trees, the relative stillness, the bevy of pettable animals – was happily distinctive.
